Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) said that officials of the ministry, in cooperation with other officials, would intensify checks at commercial and industrial establishments to ensure compliance with Covid-19 precautionary measures.

In a statement, the MoCIIP said, “The ministry stresses the need for commercial and industrial establishments to adhere to precautionary measures and to reduce visitors to 50 per cent of total capacity.”

 

The ministry added: “Commercial establishments must continue to fully adhere to preventive measures such as wearing a mask by visitors, maintaining social distancing, sterilizing shopping carts and surfaces, providing sanitisers to consumers, and making sure that visitors to the facility present a certificate of vaccination, which proves that two doses of the vaccine have been obtained, and other health requirements."

The ministry also directed consumers to take advantage of E-shopping applications provided by many centers, shops and restaurants to avoid mixing in places crowded with shoppers and to avoid transmission of infection. The ministry also calls on owners of commercial centres and restaurants to follow the necessary preventive measures for home delivery workers to ensure their safety and the safety of home owners.
