Abu Dhabi - The Ministry of Finance (MoF) recently signed an agreement with Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University on capacity building for Ministry's employees who occupy second level leadership positions and who are enrolled in the training programme on leadership skills development .The signing ceremony took place in the Ministry's premises in Abu Dhabi as part of MoF's commitment to develop its employees' skills and capabilities in various fields.

The agreement was signed by HE MusabahMohammed Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary of Support Services Sector at MoF and Athbah Al Kamdah, Vice Chancellor for Learner Development at Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University.

The agreement highlights the commitment of both parties to offer a one year training programme to develop leadership skills for 21 employees who occupy second levelleadership positions at the Ministry; and who are to assume higher leadership and managerial positions within the Ministry's departments. The university will equip participants with the necessary books and training resources, and assess them with questionnaires and exams, in addition to providing reports on performance and attendance to the Ministry's officials.

HE Musabah Mohammed Al Suwaidi highlighted the Ministry's commitment to enhance employees' skills and capabilities to qualify them to deliver high quality work and progress in their careers. HE then said: "The Ministry continuously seeks to cooperate with various specialised entities to provide the best academic and practical training for all its team members. This is to enhance the Ministry's ability to achieve its strategic vision aimed at reaching global levelsin the management of financial resources."

The programme is divided into two phases, whereby the first phase includes four assessments on general knowledge, fifteen factor personality questionnaires (15FQ+), and 360 degree evaluations on logic. The second phase incorporates enrolment in a professional diploma in leadership skills which focuses on basic management and leadership skills, strategic planning, management of human resources, building and leading teams, effective communication and overallquality management.
