The youngest member of the ESPRIMO PC family, the new ESPRIMO Q5030, is quiet, light and powerful.
Dubai, UAE, August 14, 2008 - Size really does matter, and with the new generation of its mini-PC series, Fujitsu Siemens Computers delivers high performance in a miniature format once again. The ESPRIMO Q5030 raises the bar even higher than its predecessor. It is smaller and lighter than hardly any other mini-PC on the market, weighing only 1.7 kg and with a volume of 1.4 liters. It takes up a minimum of space on the desk so tidying up is easy. This tiny format was made possible when Fujitsu Siemens Computers, as one of only a few players in this market, decided to build a mini-PC on the basis of the latest notebook technology. This makes the ESPRIMO Q5030 not only small and light, but also more of an energy-saver than traditional PC models.
However, its small size does not have an adverse affect on performance. Thanks to the new Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology, the ESPRIMO Q5030 offers a notably better processor performance than earlier models. The mini device's large number of interfaces - a total of six USB ports and eSata - means it boasts a high level of connectivity. In addition, an integrated WLAN antenna also ensures the best connections. With a stable lifecycle of at least 12 months, the small powerhouse is a top investment for business customers.
More economical: the ESPRIMO Q5030's energy consumption is below the magical threshold
Fujitsu Siemens Computers has been committed to an environmentally conscious product policy for more than fifteen years - and makes no exception with the ESPRIMO Q5030. The device easily meets the Energy Star 4.0 requirements and will appease the environmental conscience of every company. Its annual energy consumption of less than 80 kilowatt hours - corresponding to annual energy costs of €13.00 - makes it a "savings prodigy". In standard operation, its noise pollution is still notably lower than the noise level in a library. In idle mode the Q5030 does not even reach whisper level.
Stylish accessory: a new product design from Fujitsu Siemens Computers
With its new mini-PC, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has overcome another challenge with flying colors. It has freed the PC from its image as an old grey box and has transformed it into a stylish office accessory. The relaunched ESPRIMO Q5030 will also come in the new sophisticated product design that Fujitsu Siemens Computers has assigned to all its business products. The "Core & Shell" principle - a black base with anthracite colored housing - turns the new mini-PC into an adornment for any desk and ensures high recognition value throughout all the products of the business family.
The ESPRIMO Q5030 has another showstopper. Fujitsu Siemens Computers has equipped its "mini" with a so-called backpack option to allow the user to save even more desk space. This means it can easily be secured to the rear of a monitor, a solution otherwise only known in the world of "thin clients." This option along with the ESPRIMO Q5030's small size, further unclutters the desk.
The performance and slim dimensions of the ESPRIMO Q5030 provides the best of both the worlds of Desktop PC and Notebook - and with its attractive price of 529,-- Euros (excluding VAT) it can really hold its own in every competitive situation.
"With the ESPRIMO Q5030, we continued and further developed our unique concept of a mini-PC on a notebook basis," said Dieter Heiss, Senior Director Business PC. "In times of climate change and discussions about green IT policies, the excellent energy values of this device will convince even the most critical customer - let alone business customers who on top appreciate sophisticated design in their office environments."
The ESPRIMO Q5030 will be available in the region beginning September.
