Dubai, UAE: SANS Institute will participate in the Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference (GISEC) at the Dubai World Trade Center from April 1-3, 2019, to urge regional leaders to get tough on tackling the cyber security skills gap. The largest provider of cyber security training and certification worldwide will be showcasing its over 60 immersion-style world-leading training courses aimed at private- and public-sector security professionals.

“In the next few years, approximately 24 billion internet-connected devices will be installed worldwide. This means that, with the gap for cyber security jobs set to run into several millions, according to reports, we are putting ourselves at risk in new and unprecedented ways,” says Ned Baltagi, Managing Director in the Middle East, SANS Institute. “We are returning to GISEC 2019 to personally deliver this message to our stakeholders and demonstrate how they can plug the security skills gap in their organisations.”

At GISEC 2019, SANS Institute will showcase its world-leading training courses, providing intensive, immersion training designed to help security professionals master the practical steps needed to defend systems and networks against the most dangerous threats – the ones being actively exploited. “SANS courses equip practitioners with the latest techniques and knowledge that they can put to work immediately upon their return to the office.” Baltagi says.

Specifically, SANS Institute will be showcasing its 60+ core training courses, its SANS Security Awareness training platform, and bespoke cyber security training programs such as Cyber City, NetWars, CyberStart and Cyber Academy. “Organizations must act now to both arm their frontline staff and equip their security professionals with the skills to deliver best in-class defence.” Baltagi urges.

SANS Institute already works with a wide range of government and commercial organizations in the Middle East and North Africa, helping upskill existing practitioners and working to bring new talent into the industry and quickly get them up to speed for their first cyber security role. “Training now plays a critical role in defending against cybercrime within organizations from every sector. Awareness of how to proactively prevent the latest threats is critical to keep Middle East organizations and individuals safe. As such, we feel it is important to be part of GISEC, the key cyber security event in the Middle East.” concludes Baltagi.

SANS Institute will be present in Hall 8 at Stand D2 this GISEC 2019. Following the event, the company will host its very first Middle East Summit on 4 April in Abu Dhabi, covering topics such as car hacking, sheltering from the internet storm and raising the bar against the attacker. SANS Institute will also share its 2019 calendar of training events in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, and Kuwait.
