Industry recognition for SPARK as the city of firsts collects Cityscape award for innovative technology and design

Dhahran, Saudi Arabia: King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) has received the Cityscape Intelligence 2021 award in the Tech and Innovation Category, Saudi Arabia. The prestigious platform is held every quarter and celebrates the MENA region’s best and boldest projects by honouring the real estate developers and architects shaping the region’s skylines. The panel of expert judges examine projects that not only show architectural excellence but also speak to the changing and challenging climate. This is the first time Cityscape has had a KSA-specific real estate award platform and SPARK is one of the first entities to win.

Commenting on this recognition, President and CEO of SPARK, Saif Al Qahtani, said, “We are immensely proud to receive an award in this category. SPARK is progressing at full speed to develop a globally-unique energy-centric ecosystem, set to play a major role in the diversification of Saudi Arabia’s economy and to be a catalyst of growth for local, regional and global organizations. SPARK is the world’s first industrial city with Silver LEED certification. SPARK is also the first entity in the Kingdom and in the region to pioneer the use of multiple cutting-edge technologies, ensuring sustainability remains at the heart of its development. This include green concrete, ConXTech modular building technology, non-metallic rebar use in bridges among other technologies.. We are grateful to be recognized for our proactive approach to building sustainably for the Kingdom’s future, and we hope that this award is one of many to come.”

The Cityscape Intelligence Awards recognise real estate developers and architects for their work in transforming the region’s real estate landscape, considering a vast array of completed and future projects from across the MENA region.
