Algerian Qatari German Hospital, a public-private partnership (PPP) project undertaken by Qatar’s Apex Health with Algeria’s National Investment Fund (FNI) is nearing completion, according to a report by local news portal Echoroukonline.
The $287 million hospital, which is being constructed in the city of Sidi Abdellah, is expected to be delivered in 2027, the news portal reported last week.
The 300-bed hospital spans an area of around 10 hectares, including approximately 6 hectares of built-up space, and is being built by SPA Algerian Qatari Healthcare Services Company, a statement issued by Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) said.
It said the facility is designed to provide treatment for complex medical cases that previously required patients to travel abroad, including neurosurgery, scoliosis treatment, liver transplantation and paediatric cardiac surgery.
The development is expected to create around 954 direct jobs, in addition to indirect employment opportunities across the healthcare and construction sectors.
Apex Health is the healthcare subsidiary of Estithmar Holding.
