Raidtec has certified Maxtor’s Atlas 10K Ultra320 drives with its unique MaxAdapt™ technology for use in its newest FlexArray® 12 and FlexArray® 6 systems addressing applications including CAD graphics, imaging and prepress rendering, retail transactions and more. The speed of the Atlas 10K drives and added intelligence of its MaxAdapt feature is ideally suited to optimize signal quality and the performance requirements of Raidtec’s FlexArray product range. The qualification of Maxtor’s Atlas 10K drives is further proof of the companies’ on-going commitment to provide distributors, integrators and VARs with high performance solutions.

Raidtec FlexArray 12 & FlexArray 6
At speeds up to 320MB/sec throughput, the new Ultra320 SCSI standard pushes the performance envelope for I/O intensive applications, including CAD graphics, video production, business continuity, retail and more. The FlexArray 12 and 6 bay models are designed to satisfy demands among users of single host computer workstations and small dual server clusters for the fastest data throughput available.
Packed with currently available Ultra320 SCSI drives, the new FlexArray models can accommodate up to 2.1TB in a 12 bay and 1.2TB in a 6 bay when populated with 147GB capacity disk drives. The FlexArray 12 bay is available in both a rackmount and tower configuration and packs more than 500GB per 1U of rack space. FlexArray 6 is available as a mini-tower enclosure only.
Maxtor Atlas 10K Ultra320
As the industry’s first Ultra320 SCSI drive, the Atlas 10K drive continues Maxtor’s interface leadership, providing a backwards-compatible solution ideal for high data throughput applications such as streaming multimedia audio and video, video editing, data warehousing, web servers and RAID arrays. Maxtor’s Atlas 10K drive has a rotational speed of 10,000 RPM, an average seek time of 4.5 ms and is the only currently released hard drive with a full implementation of all the mandatory and optional Ultra320 SCSI interface features as defined in T10/SPI-4 rev 7 draft standard
features. This includes MaxAdapt technology, Maxtor’s implementation of adaptive active filtration (AAF) for optimal data integrity and system performance.
Maxtor Atlas 10K Ultra320 disk drives are currently available with Maxtor’s Shock Protection System, Data Protection, Thermal and Shock Sensors, and SMART compliance features.
