The Mowgli Foundation (Mowgli), an award winning, UK-headquartered mentoring organisation continues their longstanding partnership with the BADIR Initiative for a 3rd year. BADIR is a Starbucks and International Youth Foundation (IYF) initiative focused on overseeing the development and growth of young social entrepreneurs as they try to make a positive change in their communities; the initiative provides funding, learning opportunities and mentorship to these innovative youth leaders.

Mowgli supports the BADIR Initiative through the Friends of BADIR, a network of partners across the public and private sectors who provide support, guidance and mentorship for the program and its fellows. Along with serving as a mentor to a selection of BADIR's exceptional youth fellows, for the past two years, Mowgli's Levant Business Manager, Thanaa Al Khasawneh, has represented Mowgli as a member of BADIR's esteemed selection committee, comprising a variety of public figures from reputable Friends of BADIR companies and organizations.

With the program now in its second phase, Mowgli participated as a judge along with 11 others at an event held on 26th and 27th January at the King Hussein Business Park, which convened to award additional funding to a selection of existing fellows from BADIR's first phase. Of the 45 BADIR fellows from Phase One, 10 were awarded additional funding, including three Mowgli Entrepreneurs who were unanimously selected for financial awards, enabling them to further develop their projects and achieve their social goals:

1.     Lina Khalifeh - SheFighter: the first self-defence studio in Jordan, which empowers women through self-defence training

2.     Neda'a Kharoub - Trip to Innovation: an organisation which supports the creation of a platform which builds "Innovation Culture" & "Social Entrepreneurship" among Jordanian youth & entrepreneurs

3.     Siraj Haddadin - Siraj for Human Resources: An initiative that provides assistance and services to vulnerable communities in Jordan

Mowgli Foundation seeks to support the sustainable development of societies through the mentoring and evolution of entrepreneurs and leaders. This is achieved through the provision of unique and unparalleled mentoring and leadership development programs. Mowgli's unique programs enable mentors to develop their capabilities, offer their practical support and share their expertise to help entrepreneurs grow as leaders and expand their businesses, thereby creating new jobs and economic growth.

BADIR has recently announced that recruitment has commenced for a new class of BADIR fellows. The initiative will recruit up to 20 new fellows, providing them with training, support, and the opportunity to apply for up to USD6, 000 in funding for their existing social change projects.

Kat Bury, Mowgli's CEO commented: "Mowgli is honoured to work with BADIR who is making a significant impact within the social entrepreneurship space in Jordan. We have enjoyed an effective and valuable relationship over the past three years and we are looking forward to building on our partnership and adding more value to the award winners through the provision of mentoring focused learning and development opportunities so that they can continue to achieve outstanding results for themselves and their communities."
