United Arab Emirates, Dubai: The 41st edition of GITEX Technology Week, held from October 17-21 at the World Trade Center in Dubai, will witness the launch of the Industry Academia Collaboration Hub under the umbrella of the new strategic partnership between Global Innovation & Entrepreneurship Company (GIE), a leading pioneer in innovation and entrepreneurship programs and initiatives in the MENA region, and Gitex Youthx Unipreunre organizers during Gitex Future Stars events, which attaches particular importance to Emirati and Arab youth participation and discussing their role in shaping the future.

The Industry-Academia Collaboration Hub is a new initiative that supports the activation of cooperation between government bodies, the academic system and industrial institutions within an Arab regional initiative. This step is to be reflected in the role of young people in future development plans after qualifying them in the centers of creativity and innovation and working on spreading the culture of entrepreneurship. The hub will also perform the function of developing education quality and young cadres’ efficiency in meeting the requirements of the digital economy system, in cooperation with the private sector under the umbrella of governmental visions.

Commenting on this statement, Eng. Mohammed Abboud, Chairman of GIE, said: "We are pleased to announce this partnership, which resulted in the launch of the Industry-Academia Collaboration Hub, explaining that the initiative will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the young Arab cadres’ skills and the successive requirements of international businesses and companies, especially after the negative effects of the global pandemic of Covid -19 which put us today in a race against time to maximize the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in various key sectors that are on track to digital transformation, such as e-learning, smart transportation and digital services needed by Arab and regional communities.

It’s worth mentioning that the Industry Academia Collaboration Hub is launched in partnership with a number of concerned bodies from various Arab countries: UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Lebanon.
