COVID-19: Egypt announces 143 more cases, 12 deaths

ArabFinance: The Egyptian health ministry detected 143 new coronavirus cases, increasing the tally to 106,540 since the pandemic began, according to an October 25th statement.

The ministry reported an additional 12 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 6,199.

Recoveries currently total 98,903 in the country, after 90 new patients have been discharged from quarantine hospitals, the statement said.

A vaccine against coronavirus that is considered a frontrunner in the race to protect the global population has reportedly produced a robust immune response in elderly people, the group at highest risk from the disease, according to two people familiar with the finding.
