Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) announced that it has signed a blue ammonia supply agreement with Japanese industrial and trading conglomerate Mitsui.

The mining giant announced on its twitter account on Sunday that it recently signed a joint declaration agreement with Mitsui to be the first commercial supplier of blue ammonia to Japan during 2023. Further details on the deal including the volume to be shipped weren't disclosed.

On 8 March, Ma’aden had announced a similar supply agreement for blue ammonia with Taiwan Fertiliser Company (TFC).

Germany-based testing, inspection and certification agency TUV Rheinland has accredited 138,000 tonnes of blue ammonia for Ma'aden.

In November 2022, Ma'aden had confirmed that it will export its first shipment of 25,000 tonnes of blue ammonia to South Korea.
