New Managing Director will spearhead company's expansion across GCC

Dubai, UAE, July 20, 2013: Dulsco, a leading regional provider of total HR and waste management solutions, today announced the appointment of S. Balakumar as its new Managing Director, following the retirement of his predecessor Prakash Mahadalkar. Balakumar has been tasked to lead the   over 6000-employee company's expansion strategy across the GCC.

Dulsco Chairman, Abdul Aziz Mohammed Khan Abdulla, said that the new promotion underlined the 78-year-old company's continuing ambition to promote people within its ranks by grooming them to take on larger responsibilities. This is one of the key aspects that makes Dulsco a "Great Place to Work".  Dulsco being given the "Great Places to Work For" award by the Great Places To Work For Institute consecutively for three years.

Balakumar, who earlier served as Director of Dulsco HR Solutions, has worked with the company for 10 years and has been responsible for positioning Dulsco's HR Solutions as the leading human resource outsourcing company in the UAE and Qatar.

"Both Prakash Mahadalkar and his successor Balakumar have risen from the ranks to lead the company to greater heights," he added. "In addition, Balakumar has been at the forefront of many important and critical decisions that have benefited the company. Prakash Mahadalkar is retiring after more than 10 years of service with Dulsco. Joining as Finance and Administration Manager in 2003, Mahadalkar rose quickly to become the department's General Manager in 2005 and Director in 2008. In 2011, he was promoted as Managing Director. "It has been a fulfilling time for me at Dulsco and I leave with the satisfaction that the company will be in the safe hands of Balakumar, who has worked alongside me in many important projects," he added.

Balakumar joined Dulsco as Manager, Manpower Services in 2003; he was promoted as the department's General Manager in 2005 and went on to become the Director - HR Solutions in 2008. He has been a key contributor in developing Dulsco's strategies for business, employee and customer relations.

His brainchild, the Dulsco Classic golf tournament, has evolved as the region's highly awaited annual sports initiative uniting the region's business leaders. Having completed its 10th year, Dulsco Classic showcases some of the best golfing talents among the region's corporate fraternity.

Balakumar's promotion is part of the recent organisational changes announced by Dulsco. Prakash Parab, Director of Dulsco Waste Management Services, will now take up the position of Director of HR Solutions - a position formerly held by Balakumar.  Paresh Karia has been appointed as the interim head of Dulsco Waste Management Services.
