Manama, Bahrain: Leading jewellers in Bahrain are making final preparations for Jewellery Arabia 2010. A total of 56 local companies are set to participate at the exhibition, which runs from 26 - 30 October at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Joining over 600 other companies from more than 30 countries, they will use the exhibition as a platform to raise the international profile of the Kingdom's jewellery industry, whilst initiating and renewing trade relationships with foreign exhibitors and selling to a buying audience of visitors from the GCC and beyond.
"Local businesses are one of the main beneficiaries of Jewellery Arabia. International jewellery houses participate through Bahraini agents, and smaller jewellers are presented with a wider buying audience from throughout the GCC and receive exposure they would not achieve otherwise. Jewellery Arabia is not just a consumer show; there is a strong business to business element. The local industry greatly benefits from this by buying wholesale from manufacturers and forming new relationships and partners," said Arabian Exhibition Management's director of sales and marketing Fawzi Al Shehabi.
Some of the high profile Bahrain participants at Jewellery Arabia 2010 include Bahrain Jewellery Centre, Asia Jewellers, Al Mahmood Pearls, Al Zain Jewellery, AJM Kooheji Group, M.M. Sharif Hatam & Sons, Yousuf A. Wahab Al Hawaj & Sons Co WLL, Al Sarraj Jewellers, Devji Aurum, Jewel House, Sharif Group and Kooheji Jewellery amongst others.
Jewellery Arabia 2010 will also feature a pavilion of smaller Bahraini companies, coordinated by Tamkeen. The creation of the group forms part of Tamkeen's Enterprise Development Support Programme, which was conceived to stimulate the growth of Bahrain's private sector, and aims to improve the productivity and efficiency of Bahrain's enterprises.
The single largest exhibitor at Jewellery Arabia 2010 is Bahrain Jewellery Centre. The company is returning with a host of the world's most famous master jewellers and watchmakers in boutique format. Visitors are set to be dazzled by the latest collections from over 40 prestige brands.
Under the leadership of founder member and managing director Dr. Abul Qassim Shirazi, BJC has been a pioneering supporter since the exhibition's inception in 1992. Dr. Shirazi is also credited as being a motivating force behind the establishment of the Jewellery Arabia exhibition series.
Commenting on the exhibition, Dr. Shirazi said that Bahrain Jewellery Centre is proud to undertake the extra effort to bring renowned names to Jewellery Arabia to promote Bahrain's name as a business centre in the region.
Another major exhibitor, Asia Jewellers, is also returning to Jewellery Arabia 2010 with signature style and quality. Occupying over 1,000 square metres, its stand comprises of over 30 international high-end jewellery and watch companies.
Currently in its 19th consecutive year of participation, each of Asia Jewellers' brands showcases special pieces at Jewellery Arabia. Its main anchor partner, Cartier, is renowned for its unique jewellery sets which are brought in from Paris just for the event. These pieces are shown exclusively at Jewellery Arabia, signifying the event's importance in the global jewellery industry calendar.
Mohammed Mahmood Jaffar, chairman of Asia Jewellers said, "We are proud to continue to have such a strong presence at this landmark show, which firmly establishes Bahrain as the regional leader for the jewellery industry. The support of the Government of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has succeeded in establishing a benchmark for the industry and attracting international attention to the Kingdom. The interest we receive from our international partners and the continued expansion that we undertake each year is evidence that this show is a trend-setting event in the global market."
Jewellery Arabia will open from 16.00 to 22.00 on Tuesday 26 October to Friday 29 October. On Saturday 30 October the exhibition will open from 10.00 to 13.00 and 16.00 to 22.00. For further information visit: www.jewelleryarabia.com
