Muscat - The Gulf Mushroom Products Company SAOG (GMPC), engaged in the cultivation and marketing of fresh mushrooms in Oman, will be exhibiting its products for the first time at  Omanexpo’s 12th edition of Food & Hospitality Oman exhibition, which will take place from 16 to 18 October 2017.

The immensely popular trade show, recognised as the landmark event for Oman’s food and hospitality sector, and an annual fixture on Oman’s event calendar, showcases the industry’s continuous development and expansion in these rapidly growing industries through a comprehensive networking, education and entertainment platform apart from the traditional exhibition.

Successful entrepreneurs in the food sector will be sharing their experience with each other and other attendees.  Abdullah Nasser Al Hadhrami, CEO of Gulf Mushroom Products Company SAOG says, "GMPC is delighted to be part of Food & Hospitality Oman exhibition 2017 as a sponsor. The event offers us an opportunity to market and showcase our farm-fresh mushrooms to the visitors, introduce the consumer to the Omani mushroom; enhance our customer base; build a network of business relationships; improve the image of the company in the internal and external market and to explore potential opportunities for future sales."

The Oman’s premier mushroom grower has drawn up plans to double its production capacity in the second quarter of this year with the planned launch of 12 new mushroom growing rooms in Barka. A new high-tech compost manufacturing plant in Thumrait in Dhofar Governorate, which will help end the company’s dependence on imported compost, is being commissioned.

Innovative solutions are being looked into to address the challenges in processing and packaging of mushrooms. Since mushrooms are packed with vitamins and minerals they need to be promoted in a big way and the Food & Hospitality Oman exhibition 2017 is an ideal platform for doing so.

Gulf Mushroom Products Company SAOG will showcase five types of fresh Omani mushrooms at the  food expo; namely, white Button mushroom, white Baby mushroom, white Giant mushroom,  Brown mushroom and Portabello mushroom.

Abdullah Nasser Al Hadhrami adds, "The company looks forward to the success of the exhibition through the organized management quality and integrated marketing of the exhibition. Also, we expect the success of our participation by reaching the desired objectives."

The company’s fresh mushrooms are marketed under “Gulf Fresh” brand name in the entire Middle East and Far East countries. The company has produced and supplied premium quality fresh mushrooms everyday for more than a decade to a satisfied customer base in the Middle East and Asia Pacific markets. It has recently has been awarded HACCP certificate by TUV InterCert GmbH – Group of TUV Saarland, Germany, for having established and applying an internationally recognized food safety management system (HACCP) for the production of mushrooms.
