DOHA: One of the biggest events in the academic calendar here, the Qatar Career Fair will hold its fourth exhibition from April 10 to 14, 2011 at the Doha Exhibition Center.
The five-day event will provide a great opportunity for Qatari youth to meet with representatives of the participating ministries and institutions and discuss available job opportunities, the requirements of the employment market and receive training in various areas.
The Qatar Career Fair is organised annually by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar University, and the Ministry of Labour.
It is a common platform for educational institutions and employers in Qatar to meet with students and discuss opportunities for employment in the country.
Primarily intended for the nationals, the event aims to help students identify the government and private sector careers.
It also offers a number of programmes and activities that contribute in creating awareness and professional culture that help to develop the skills of Qatari youth to enter the arena of work. The Qatar Career Fair contributes directly achieving the human development within the Qatar National Vision 2030, through the presentation of learning opportunities and employment, training and development available in various sectors of the country for secondary schools and university students, fresh graduates and the youth in general
The annual event which started in 2007 has been growing each year. In 2009, the event saw the participations of 105 private and governmental organisation and this year it had increased to 116.
Qatar Career Fair 2010 offers important opportunities for young Qataris to find out more about particular job requirements, as well as the current employment standards of the job market, which will help them choose the right career for themselves in the future.
