Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), the principal offtaker for water and wastewater projects in Saudi Arabia, has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the development and operation of the Jubail - Buraidah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP) project.

With a transmission capacity of 650,000 cubic metres per day, and a length of 603 kilometres, the project would be procured on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis, SWPC said in a statement posted on its website.

The statement said the project company would provide the entire transmission capacity to SWPC under a 35-year Water Transmission Agreement (WTA).

The deadline for submission of EOIs is 21 November.

The advisors on the project are Synergy Consulting IFA as Lead and Financial Adviser; Amer Al Amr Law Firm as Legal Adviser; and Fichtner as Technical Adviser, the statement noted.

Saudi Arabia's IWTP programme aims to develop potable Water Transmission Systems (WTS) network comprising of pipelines and interim/terminal storage facilities to provide critical connectivity between the consumption centres and the upcoming desalination plants.
