ArabFinance: The Egyptian health ministry reported 1,152 new COVID-19 cases and 47 fatalities, according to a June 2nd announcement.

Until press time, Egypt has a total of 27,536 cases and 1,052 deaths.

As for the recoveries, the ministry said that 380 new cases have been discharged from quarantine hospitals.

A total of 6,827 cases have been fully recovered from the virus, out of 7,642 whose lab tests changed to negative from positive.

The ministry highlighted that the majority of COVID-19 cases are residents of Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia, while the Red Sea, Marsa Matrouh, and South Sinai reported the lowest infection rate.

The country registered the highest rise in the detected cases on a single day on May 31st.
