ArabFinance: The Supreme Council of Universities and the Egyptian Society of Neurology, Psychiatry, and Neurosurgery teamed up with Germany-based Boehringer Ingelheim to announce the Angels initiative for the healthcare sector, according to a September 20th press release.

The purpose of the initiative is to deliver medical education on stroke management at university hospitals across the Arab republic, the statement elaborated.

Created by the German institution, the Angels initiative offers 12-month online medical lectures from specialists and experts in the field of stroke management, besides its diagnosis and treatment.

Recent statistics showed that the prevalence of stroke in Egypt is high at 963 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to Head of the Neurology Department at Aim Shams University and General Secretary and Chair of Stroke Chapter Hany Aref.

Boehringer Ingelheim opened a scientific office in Egypt last year, which was the beginning of its commercial legal entity in the country.
