ArabFinance: The Egyptian health ministry reported 1,079 new COVID-19 cases and 36 fatalities, according to a June 3rd announcement.

Until press time, Egypt has a total of 28,615 cases and 1,088 deaths.

The ministry said that 523 cases have been discharged from quarantine hospitals.

Therefore, a total of 7,350 patients have been fully recovered from the virus, out of 8,371 whose lab tests changed to negative from positive.

The ministry previously noted that the majority of COVID-19 cases have been reported in Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia, while the Red Sea, Marsa Matrouh, and South Sinai have registered the lowest infection rate.

The country registered the highest rise in the detected cases on a single day on May 31st.
