Indian construction and engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Tuesday that its Power Transmission & Distribution Business has won a power substation order in Saudi Arabia.

The subsidiary secured an order to build a 380kV substation in Saudi Arabia with associated transmission interconnections, the company said in a statement.

Contract value and name of the client weren’t disclosed.

In October 2022, L&T secured a contract to build a 380kV overhead line in the Kingdom that will help strengthen the evacuation infrastructure and improve the grid’s reliability in the Western region.

Saudi Arabia is focused on increasing the share of renewable generation in its energy mix in line with its National Renewable Energy Program.
