Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority has invited bids from international consultants for the design and supervision of the Musandam Airport.

The tender documents are available until 12 March 2023. Prebid clarification can be sought until 22 March 2023. Bid submission closes on 11 April 2023, according to a public invite.

“The consultancy services include preliminary design, detailed design, tender document preparation and tendering, supervision and post contract services,” the notice said.

In January 2023, Zawya Projects had reported that Arab Centre for Engineering Sciences and Wimpey Laboratories are in the fray for the contract to conduct field investigations as a preparatory step for the construction of the airport.

The airport consists of two runways, a passenger terminal with a capacity of 250,000 passengers per year, aircraft parking bays, service buildings, air traffic control tower, cargo zones, taxiways, and hangar area suitable for the handling of up to Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 size aircraft and parking facilities, according to the report.

Renardet SA & Partners Consulting Engineers is the master plan and design consultant.
