- HP's Technology helps reduce Help Desk and printer-related support calls by approx 20%
- CIO's save up to 45% of their time
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - HP announced today that the Industry Analysts Technical Services Division (IATSD) has awarded HP with a 'Technological Innovation Award' for its Universal Print Driver (UPD) technology. HP's UPD is a unique single driver that supports nearly all HP thereby helping CIO's, IT Managers and IT Departments save time and effort of monitoring various printing devices and drivers unique to each printer. The Industry Analysts Technical Services Division (IATSD) is an independent organization providing "real-world" third-party testing, evaluations and market research to companies around the world.
Mr. Amr Hassan, General Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, said: "We are extremely proud to receive this award and would like to thank IATSD for this recognition. Technology has the ability to empower the lives of consumers, enterprises and SMB's across the globe. HP Universal Print Drivers virtually eliminate the need for IT departments to test, deploy and support multiple print drivers. The technology has numerous benefits such as simplifying printing for end users; saving time for CIO's and IT Managers, and drastically reducing calls to the Help Desk while improving overall productivity."
UPD offers customers the save costs by controlling color usage and helping employees be more mobile. In addition, UPD also recognizes upgrades to devices such as added finishers and paper sources without the need to update drivers on each individual workstation on the network as is the case for devices from most competitors. IT administrators will no doubt love the fact that there a single self-updating driver common to all HP devices across the network.
Industry Analysts Technical Services Division (IATSD) provides comprehensive, confidential testing and technical-support services to manufacturers in the office-imaging industry, including manufacturers of digital copier/network printers, digital color laser copiers, desktop network printers and office-imaging supplies.
All testing is performed on a strictly confidential basis at a secure test site, with access strictly limited to authorized service technicians and the client's designated employees.
