Dubai, UAE; 15 May 2014: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) honoured the winners of the 17th Dubai Government Excellence Programme 2013, at a ceremony held at DEWA's headquarters. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, honoured the distinguished employees. Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources, and senior officials from DEWA attended the event.

The DGEP awarded DEWA in the following categories: Financial Performance, Customer Satisfaction, Distinguished Joint Government Project with Dubai Municipality (Improving procedures for building permits in the Emirate of Dubai), and the Unknown Soldier.

"The award is a reflection of our mandate to motivate our employees and foster a work environment that promotes creativity, strategic thinking, and a drive for excellence, enabling us to embrace the latest international practices, implement the newest standards of quality, and contribute to the services that DEWA provides to its customers and partners," said Al Tayer.

The winners from the Distinguished Joint Government Project with Dubai Municipality, (Improving procedures for building permits in the Emirate of Dubai), included: Rashid Bin Humaidan, Marwan Sabbagh, Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Obaid Al Falasi, Branly Nassour, Ghassan al Asmar and Khalifa Muftath. The winner of the Unknown Soldier was Motahar Shah. The winner from the support Team included: Nasser Lootah, Executive Vice President of Power Generation and Hussain Lootah, Executive Vice President of Transmission Power for their dedication and continuous support for the Dubai Government Excellence Programme.
