Dubai: Careem, the region’s first multi-service app, announced the results of its efforts to help Customers and Captains get vaccinated. As the UAE achieved a major milestone of administering 15 million vaccine doses, Careem announced that 100% of eligible Careem ride-hailing Captains and 90% of delivery Captains are now vaccinated in the UAE. Beyond the UAE, Careem is facilitating the vaccination of Captains in Kuwait, where 80% of Careem Captains are now fully vaccinated. Careem also announced an extension of its partnership with Justmop, to offer PCR testing across Dubai for AED 199, with results in 24-hours.
Careem Customers can now arrange right from the app for a DHA-licensed nurse to come to their home, office or hotel to administer a PCR test. As the summer travel season begins and more countries start allowing tourists, demand for PCR testing is expected to grow. To make the testing experience even simpler, Careem enabled Careem Pay to be used for payment.
Speaking about the partnership with Justmop, Adeeb Warsi, Managing Director of Platforms at Careem said: “The addition of PCR services being launched on the Careem app is an exciting moment for us as we further expand on our existing partnership with Justmop. The service will allow Customers to easily make a booking using their linked card or Careem Pay, facilitating a convenient and seamless experience. As we anticipate an increase in demand for PCR testing with Expo on the horizon, we believe this launch will create more value for Customers, with yet another valuable service available on the app.”
Ali Cagatay Ozcan, CEO and Co-Founder of Justmop adds: “We’re so pleased to grow our partnership with Careem. We’re proud of Justmop’s vast services, and this partnership with Careem allows us to showcase and offer them to a new and larger audience, further enabling us to help the residents of Dubai have safe and reliable PCR testing done with a quick turnaround, in an even more convenient manner. We value Careem and our customers and are excited to take this next step together.”
Careem also released the results of its local partnerships to help further the nation’s vaccination efforts. Careem had released a “Get Vaccinated” tool in March 2021, a new feature that allows Customers in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman to book a ride to a vaccination site with just two taps. The “Get Vaccinated” tool includes detailed information from official government sources on the different vaccines being offered in the UAE, vaccine eligibility, and the timings and locations of all vaccination sites across the country. Customers can call the vaccination center nearest to their location through the app and book a safe and reliable ride to the vaccination site in just two taps.
Since January Careem has observed a surge in the number of Customers booking rides to vaccination sites with a total of 212,581 Customers interacting with the widget over a three month period.
Careem Customers across Dubai can book their PCR tests via the app, which has a new PCR tile available on its interface. Any user who does not yet see the tool can simply download the newest version of Careem from App Store or Google Play. The launch of the service will include a promo code of AED 35 that will be active until 31st July. All Customers have to do is apply the promo code PCRT on the payment screen.
