Dubai, August 4, 2004 - Now there's no need for children to run away and join the circus - it has come to them, complete with circus training classes. From Monday, August 2, to Sunday, August 8, Lamcy Plaza is hosting a four-member Australian circus in a specially-designed area in the mall atrium.

Circus Works, the world-famous performing group running the circus workshop, is made up of four colourful clowns attired in multi-coloured overalls and wacky accessories and a circus ringmaster in a funny coat and tails and a huge mustache. The ringmaster selects children from the audience to come into the circus arena, and the four then teach the kids all kinds of important circus acts, including juggling, twirling ribbons, rope tricks, acrobatics and other fun things.

The interactive and learning elements make up the key difference between this circus and a regular circus. Not only can the kids sit and watch the performances, but they can also interact with the performers and learn some acts from them. The circus clowns also gathers all the children together in a big circle and show them funny dance moves, ask them questions and make them laugh.

Thus far, the circus has drawn children from many different nationalities and age groups. Performances will be held every day from 4.30 pm to 9.30 pm, and on Sunday, August 8, from 4.30 pm to 8 pm and 9 pm to 10.30 pm.

Dubai Summer Surprises 2004 is currently in the Knowledge Surprises organised by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry from August 5-11, followed by Back-2-School Surprises by the Department of Economic Development from August 12-18 and ends with the Colour Surprises by the Department of Health and Medical Sciences from August 19-27, 2004.
