Husband and wife design team bring a touch of French elegance to the Middle East fashion industry
Abu Dhabi, UAE - Dazzling design duo Judith and Gonzague Duriez of Arabesque Haute Couture unveiled a first look at their show-stopping Spring 2007 collection today at The Bride Show Abu Dhabi, bringing a touch of French elegance to the Middle East.
The collection was a refreshing look at Spring 2007 with flowing lines and a minimalistic, fresh approach to traditional sheilas and abayas. Drawing on key trends for 2007 which included muted metallics and fresh accents such as French lace, the collection provided a modern twist on traditional classics.
Arabesque Haute Couture, a new brand for Sheilas and Abayas created by the French designer couple, feature designs that are a unique blend of two distinct cultural experiences. This is only accomplished by the marriage of the inimitable French Couture touch with the rich Middle Eastern fashion heritage.
Having both studied from some of the most prestigious fashion schools in Paris and worked with some of the most famous French designers such as Christian Lacroix, Chanel, Jean Louis Scherrer and Thierry Mugler, the duo have been designing for fashionistas throughout the Gulf for the last 15 years.
Swarovski crystals, feathers, French tassels, hand embroidery and hand painted accents are elegantly mixed into prestigious designs and provide the signature French trademark of not only quality but elegance.
"Arab women are almost becoming fashion professionals themselves, said Judith. "They spend a great deal of time in the great Parisian fashion houses and are fast becoming experts at everything to do with haute couture - from the cut of a beautiful garment to the fabrics. Not only is the UAE one of the world's most affluent markets, it is also a country where weddings have a great significance and tradition and no expense is spared in making them occasions to remember. Showing your collection at The Bride Show is fast becoming is a must for any designer eager to make their mark here, which is why we have chosen to launch our Spring 2007 collection at the event."
