MUSCAT -- KPMG's member firms will hire approximately 75,000 campus graduates worldwide over the next three years, representing a 25 per cent increase in the firm's historical on-campus resourcing target.

The global member firm network has identified a need to hire approximately 250,000 new hires over the next five years and graduate recruitment plays an essential role in meeting the firm's long-term global growth strategy. New hires will be integrated into all of KPMG's functional areas -- audit, tax and advisory, and internal firm services.

"While KPMG's firms plan to hire a large number of new graduate employees, it's important to note that our focus is about more than simply high volumes -- it's about recruiting top talent to drive our growth now and into the future," said Alim Dhanji, KPMG's Global Head of Resourcing, KPMG International. "To attract the best, we offer new graduates the opportunity to work alongside talented professionals in 150 countries, solving complex client issues and making a difference to some of the world's most prestigious organisations."

"Globalisation is increasingly impacting our clients' world, so ensuring our future leaders have a strong understanding of global business complexities is critical to our business," said Rachel Campbell, Global Head of People, KPMG International. "Through our global campus recruitment and ongoing talent development programmes, KPMG's network of member firms will be prepared with a workforce to meet our clients' needs anywhere in the world to drive forward our high performance culture."

KPMG in Oman has, for a number of years, been active locally in recruiting campus graduates with focus on Omanisation. This will continue with greater vigour in the coming years to meet the firm's ambitious growth plans. KPMG in Oman has specially developed training programmes to cater to the need of the Omani graduates. KPMG has been very successful in helping Omani nationals qualify for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK.

"We have been successfully training accountants and auditors in the Sultanate for many years. We have trained more than 200 Omanis and we help Omani trainees achieve ACCA qualification through financial support, mentoring and peer study programmes and global assignments," said Khalid Ansari, partner responsible for the firm's Omanisation programme.
