“It leverages M2M technology to deliver managed energy services and business intelligence in real time. This shows that how mobile and ICT can tangibly benefit the communities in which we live and work,” Al Shamsi said.

The total area managed under the programme is 8.7 million square feett. More than 51 bulidings are participating in the programme.

“With etisalat’s wide network coverage and through the Emirates Energy Star programme, organisations can monitor their energy consumption online in real time,” Dilip Rahulan, executive chairman of Pacific Controls, said. He said etisalat is one of the three telco operator in the world to offer such a facility.

“The M2M revenue potential now is around 0.3-0.4 per cent of the total revenue. Our target is to achieve 5 per cent of the total revenue,” Al Shamsi said.
