AMMAN, March 11 (KUNA) -- Jordanian and Kuwaiti Parliamentarians stressed on Saturday the importance of joint parliamentary work to boost bilateral relations and confront challenges facing the Arab nation.

Visiting Head of the Kuwaiti-Jordanian Parliamentary Committee MP Marzouk Al-Hubeini told KUNA Kuwaiti MPs are looking forward to such joint Arab work especially through the Arab Parliament as to upgrading the standard of the parliamentarians.

"As Kuwaiti parliamentarians and through our experience that enjoys a great deal of democracy and freedom, we hope that the performance of the interim Arab Parliament will reflect positively on the performance of Arab parliaments," he added.

Kuwaiti MP Dr. Hassan Al-Jowhar said Jordan has a strong elected parliament, a matter which stresses the importance of such parliaments in guiding the Arab Parliament and Arab joint parliamentary work to confront challenges that require continuous consultations and communication.

For his side, Jordan's First Deputy Speaker Dr. Nayef Al-Fayez and Head of the Jordanian-Kuwaiti Parliamentary Friendship Committee highlighted the Jordanian-Kuwaiti parliamentary cooperation and its impact on the interest of both countries and Arab joint work.

Al-Fayez said the Kuwaiti and Jordanian views towards many issues were identical, a matter which was clear during the Parliamentary meetings held recently in Jordan.

Al-Fayez added that MPs from both countries have the will to exert pressure on the governments to bridge differences with governments.
