March 8th, Dubai: As the world’s greatest show, Expo 2020 draws ever nearer, thousands of new residents are predicted to arrive in Dubai in the next 12 months and finding their home just got a lot simpler thanks to new tools available through Property Finder.

The leading online real estate portal has launched four map based features to support the influx of visitors to the region for the years impending event, in order to make finding a home; simpler.

These four features, based around the map search experience are available on our desktop and mobile website, and allow users to search for their home and compare prices via the map, as well as view nearby amenities and calculate travel distances.

75% of our population rely on a navigation app, and as a region first, Property Finder is stepping in, so that the consumer doesn't have to navigate between multiple apps, and can benefit from an integrated-listing embedded map search facility.

‘Travel time calculator’ and ‘Travel time search’ will allow residents, during their property search, to quickly work out how much time they will spend on the road or en-route to their most frequent destinations, while, ‘Map Search’ will give highly detailed information to an area’s position in relation to nearby locations - a vital tool in a city with so many new and established communities to explore. Users can search the area, explore prices, and find out the proximity of points of interest. ‘Amenities in the map’ gives residents a comprehensive idea of what’s in their local area, a handy tool to help whittle down everything from supermarkets to schools, gyms to restaurants, and hospitals.

With many users on Property Finder’s platform being new to the UAE for Expo, and unsure of where to begin their property search journey, a detailed map search will provide them with greater visibility of pricing and availability, and the locality of amenities, attractions and schools in the vicinity. This innovation-driven partnership with 2GIS, ‘the most detailed city map’, will help make user searches more visual and provide them with a geographic and more informed way to search for properties.

Besides the more detailed information of an individual property or tower listed on Property Finder, users will also be able to access a large volume of points of interest such as Metro stations, restaurants, mosques, nurseries, schools and clinics with the updated location-based search feature.

Partnering with 2GIS, the official data provider of the governments of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ajman, helps Property Finder provide the most detailed, reliable and interactive city map in the current market. Users can gain more transparency on a property listing by using our map, rich in information, at the heart of their search experience.

Until now, such information was hard to come by on a common platform, with users often depending on disparate sources to gather all the finer details required to make their property purchase or rental decision. By incorporating map information into users’ search experience, Property Finder aims to create better informed consumers as well as help the business of their real estate broker clients.

In a constantly evolving and dynamic country like the UAE, Property Finder users will be updated on street names, villa numbers and towers, new restaurants, public transportation, parks, services and companies with the location-based search feature.

“At Property Finder, we aim to constantly innovate, and technology is a major part of that. Allowing for these more detailed searches helps reduce the stress of moving, making it more fun, with more reliable and detailed searches,” said Ari Kesisoglu, Property Finder GM. “One thing we pride ourselves on, is our data and wealth of information, such as our building reviews tool, allowing users to access objective reviews of properties from the general public, both good and bad, which we feel helps us offer a service beyond simply finding a property.”

The year 2020 is expected to be one of huge activity in the Dubai property market, 20 million visitors expected, and many of those working and exhibiting at Expo 2020. Lynnette Abad, Director of Research and Data, said: “We expect to see transaction volumes increase in 2020 leading up to the Expo especially in the areas around Dubai South. The biggest demand we are seeing  so far is in apartments, around six times that of villas and townhouses, with very little demand for shared apartments, meaning there is a large expected influx of professionals to either work with Expo, or within the wave of employment it is sparking across the city.”

Property Finder data shows there are 46,000 units within projects that are currently 80%+ completed with an expected completion prior to September 2020. “There is a lot of scope for movement yet,” says Kesisoglu. “We think the Expo 2020 effect is going to be a strong one for Dubai, and these new features will be invaluable tools for anyone visiting on short or longer term visas, allowing them to whittle down where they want to be located in just a matter of seconds.”
