Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, announced that it has increased the percentage of Emiratization at its senior management as well as medium and administrative management levels to 45% and 40% respectively. The total number of employees working at Empower has reached 845, with UAE nationals accounting for 15% of the total. Women and men make up 45% and 55% respectively, of the overall workforce.

Empower emphasized that it continues to develop thoughtful Emiratisation plans to promote the national economy and the domestic competencies that the company is keen to attract. Empower focuses in particular on achieving a balance in the work environment by attracting the best emerging national female and male talents to work in the vital district cooling sector in the region, and qualifying them to drive the economic development. It also aims to raise the proportion of Emiratisation in the district cooling sector, in line with the UAE vision 2021.

"At Empower, we follow the road map adopted by the Council of Ministers, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to increase Emiratisation, by relying on young national talents in our organization on an annual basis", said Ahmad bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

"The integrated system and strategic plan adopted by Empower is yielding remarkable successes, and contributes to achieving the strategic vision of the UAE government, which aims to raise Emiratisation rate to more than 4% annually by encouraging national talents to join vital sectors", he added.

Bin Shafar pointed out that Emiratisation and attracting qualified Emirati expertise was and still the core of Empower's employment strategy since its inception. "We believe that employing our people is the best investment to support the continuation of the UAE renaissance and comprehensive development, and strengthen its leadership in various global fields."
