Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected about EGP 3.172 billion in taxes, customs duties, and other charges at Ain Sokhna port during September.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Ain Sokhna port stood at EGP 859.372 million last month, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Sunday.

In addition, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on the imported goods at the port registered EGP 2.313 billion.

The imported goods included wheat, sugar, legumes, maize, components of air conditioners, fridges, fans, fabrics, wood, yarn, mobile phone accessories, and car spare parts.

Moreover, the port exported goods at a total value of EGP 1.417 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 5.413 million.
