AMMAN — The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) on Thursday announced the launch of 11 e-services during a press conference in Amman.

“We are proud to celebrate our national achievements on fixed platforms, as a gift to Jordan and its people,” Mayor of Amman Yousef Shawarbeh said during the event.

Three of GAM's departments will go totally paperless, including the Information Technology Department, the Disease Vector Control Department and the Health Surveillance Department, Shawarbeh announced.

The new e-services package will be available on GAM’s official website as well as the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship's (MODEE) website, Head of the Information Technology Department Sultan Kharabsheh said during the conference.

The new services will be implemented in five sectors, including health, finance and environment, Karabsheh added.

As part of its aim to go completely paperless, GAM has committed to a plan to switch to e-services, which was launched back in 2017 and is scheduled to be completed on December 31 of this year, according to Shawarbeh.

“GAM has achieved 80 per cent of its goals," he said.

He added that the GAM project, which is being implemented in partnership with the MODEE and "corresponds entirely" with the government's national project, is geared towards achieving transparency and neutrality and fighting corruption, as well as improving and facilitating the services it provides to citizens.
