Cairo –   Egypt is planning to execute 22 projects at Cairo Metro with a combined cost of EGP 512 billion up to 2024, the country’s transport minister Kamel El-Wazir said.

A total of eight projects have already been implemented at a cost of EGP 33.1 billion, El-Wazir added in a statement on Monday.

Moreover, six projects are being executed at a cost of EGP 228.5 billion, while the implementation of another eight projects will begin in July at a cost of EGP 250.5 billion.

This came during the minister’s meeting with the head and senior officials of the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT).

El-Wazir reviewed the progress of implementation of the third phase of Cairo Metro Line 3 which reached 36%. The line extends for 17.7 kilometres with 15 stations.
