Muscat: ALARGAN TOWELL Investment Company, the Sultanate’s leading real estate company, recently participated in the second edition of the ‘World Conference on Tourism and Culture’ as a golden sponsor. The conference was hosted from December 11 to 12 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. It was jointly organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Heritage and Culture, in cooperation with the World Tourism Organisation and the United Nations Organisation for Education, Science, and Culture (UNESCO). More than 700 people, both local and from abroad, participated in this event, representing 70 countries around the world and with the presence of 30 ministers of tourism and culture.

Commenting on their participation in the Conference, Eng. Hisham Moussa, CEO of ALARGAN TOWELL Investment Company said, “The Sultanate’s hosting of this conference strengthens its efforts to become one of the leading countries for conference and exhibition tourism in the world. In addition to our golden sponsorship of the conference, we also participated in the accompanying exhibition to introduce the Al Nakheel Integrated Tourism Complex project.”

Minister for the Council of Ministers, lasted for two days. ALARGAN TOWELL showcased a model of Al Nakheel Integrated Tourism Complex (ITC) project at the exhibition. The project, of which ALARGAN TOWELL Investment Company is the primary investor, is located in the Wilayat of Barka in the Al Batinah South Governorate. It is being developed on a total area of 500,000 square meters at an estimated cost of OMR 256 million. Furthermore, the development is characterised by its prominent location in the Al Rumais area which links the Muscat Governorate with the Wilayat of Barka. Notable features of the project are its 830 meter waterfront overlooking the Sea of Oman and a Crystal Lagoon and promenade at the heart of the development covering an area of 51,000 square metres; which will form the recreational and entertainment heart of the new urban area.

Mohammed bin Moosa Al Abri, General Manager of Palm’s Beach Company, the developer of Al Nakheel said, “We always seek opportunities to participate in events such as these as it provides a vital opportunity for us to meet with key stakeholders in the tourism and real estate sectors as well as experts and specialists in the field. The Al Nakheel project, which was highly commended at the 2015 Arabian Property Awards, in the mixed-use projects category, for its innovative design and outstanding location, is considered to be one of the most high-profile additions to the ITC market in the Sultanate. The development includes three hotels and hotel apartments with a total capacity of 670 rooms, together with 1,436 residential apartments, villas, and

houses; which will be available for ownership for all nationalities and citizens. It will also include a shopping mall, a traditional souk, various restaurants, an aqua park, and other entertainment and service facilities. Moreover, the project aims to strengthen the infrastructure of the tourism sector, raise the numbers of hotel rooms, create rewarding employment opportunities for Omanis, create added value for the society, and achieve other goals that are related to the development of the tourism sector in the Sultanate; in line with the country’s tourism strategy for 2040.

ALARGAN TOWELL INVESTMENT COMPANY was founded in 2003 in the Sultanate of Oman as a result of the strategic alliance between ALARGAN International Real Estate Company and the reputed WJ Towell. ALARGAN TOWELL activities focus on the creation of quality yet affordable housing opportunities for Omanis in the middle-income bracket. Additionally, the AlNakheel project was Highly Commended at the prominent regional real estate development awards, the Arabian Property Awards, in Dubai, 2015.
