KUWAIT CITY: The Philippine Deputy Consul confirmed that the Philippine embassy in the country is not aware of the list of health centers approved by the Kuwaiti embassy in Manila, to conduct a coronavirus examination, noting that they have sent a copy of the Kuwait’s decision to their country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inquire from the Kuwait embassy in Manila reports Al Rai.

Deputy Consul further stated that the Philippine embassy received the copy of the amicable contract from the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry, and it was sent to the Filipino Foreign Affairs, but the recent circular on the need to obtain a certificate free from the Coronavirus, may delay the recruitment and return of approved workers in Kuwait, because there is no details regarding the decision yet, as there were questions by the Philippine Employment Recruitment Agency regarding the recent decision.

He stated that the embassy contacted the management of the Khiran Complex to know the fate of about 300 Filipinos working in the resort, which was turned into a quarantine area for coronavirus patients.

It was confirmed that the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior and Health are responsible for this resort, and they confirmed that they follow all the approved health protocol and procedures there, hence there is no communication between workers in the resort and those infected.

He further stated that they are currently seeking to communicate with the management of Al-Joun Resort, which is announced that it will be a place for quarantine, hoping that the procedure followed in the new resort is similar to what is happening in Al-Khiran.

Sources said that Philippines embassy want to know from Kuwaiti authorities as to how many Filipino domestic workers are accompanying their sponsors in quarantine, but they have not received any response yet due to the pressure of work with the Kuwaiti authorities to confront this virus, which has become an global epidemic.

He stated that his country and Kuwait is concentrating to protect their nationals from this epidemic which may delay the meeting between two countries. He further stated that all instructions are being mentioned on Embassy website to to combat the virus, in addition to all warnings issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health
