Cairo: Ministry of Trade and Industry's contribution to accomplishing Egypt vision 2030 is to address the five issues of the industrial development, small and medium-sized enterprises, foreign trade, technical training, and governance, according to minister Tarek Qabel while attending the Youth Conference kicked-off today in Egypt's coastal city of Alexandria.

" From 2007 to 2015, more than 9,5 million sqm of lands equipped with necessary utilities have been offered to investors, whereas other 16 million sqm have been put for sale from 2016 up till now," said Kabel.

While demand superseded supply of lands, which were sold at prices lower than those prevalent at market by half, the ministry sought to enhance manufacturing not to reap profits, he noted.

" MTI took the initiative of putting for sale 12 licensed industrial complexes in several provinces especially in Upper Egypt."

Regarding+ legislation regulating manufacturing in the country, Kabel said that MTI is going to issue the executive by-laws for the newly-approved license law in the next 10 days. He also explained that 1400 licenses okaying industrial expansions as well as 3600 permits for new projects at investments of EGP150 billion have been issued. Source: Al-Mal Newspaper
