Bahrain - The Bahraini government on Friday opened the largest underwater theme park, Dive Bahrain, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The part is considered the largest in the world and is aimed at boosting tourism in Bahrain, minister of industry, commerce, and tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, said.

Situated on 100,000 square metres, the theme park includes many structures, among them a 70-meter long Boeing 747.

“The eco-friendly park will also provide researchers with rich information and data on marine ecology and biology, and will enhance environmental awareness on the importance of preserving marine life,” BNA reported.

The park is planned to be opened on Saturday, 7 September 2019.
