DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, November 26, 2013

American Society for quality, (www.asq.org), and world's largest not for profit professional body of quality professionals celebrated World Quality Month on Nov. 12 with a networking event designed to share knowledge and learn best practices.

The event was held from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Dubai Center for Special Needs Functions Hall, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which was organized by ASQ's Middle East and North Africa (ASQ MENA) office and ASQ's Local Member Community executive team.

The event created proximity with local member communities, region-based groups of ASQ members and learned from experts in the quality field. Attendees joined ASQ or upgraded their membership at the event.

The event allowed the quality community to learn more about ASQ's Learning Institute and its Global State of Quality Research, which provided baseline data about the current state of practices quality professionals and organizations' use around the world.

"Attendees were able to network with others in the quality field, expanding their knowledge and learning best practices," said Sunil Thawani, ASQ's country counselor for UAE. "The event also shared with attendees the resources available from ASQ to help them enhance their business performance", he added.

John Fowler, Managing Director for ASQ Global, attended the World Quality Day Celebration and also marked the launch of ASQ's MENA office, which provides local ASQ resources to the regions' quality community and serves members and customers in the Middle Eastern and North African countries.
