World's Fastest, Most Reliable Database Makes Regional Debut Alongside CRM, Industry-Specific Solutions and 40+ Business Partners at Oracle World
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, July 17 , 2007 -- With more than a decade of leadership as the largest exhibitor at GITEX, Oracle today announced plans to launch the new Oracle 11g database during the September 2007 event. From now until GITEX, a number of businesses across the Middle East will be taking part in the beta testing phase of the Oracle 11g roll-out, and from September 8-12, decision-makers from both the government and private sectors will get their very first public look at the latest release of the world's leading database technology.
"Managing the risk and cost of implementing new software, applications, and other system changes and updates is one of the most significant challenges facing organizations in the Middle East," said Dana Murugan, senior marketing director for Oracle Middle East and Africa (MEA). "Oracle Database 11g is ideally suited to enable those changes with the industry's highest degree of automation and system availability, and we believe that GITEX provides an unparalleled opportunity for both existing Oracle customers and new ones to get a firsthand look at the capabilities of Oracle 11g."
According to Gartner's latest report, Oracle leads the worldwide relational database management systems (RDBMS) software market with 47.1 per cent of the market share.
Oracle offers a wide range of options to extend the power of Oracle Database 11g to meet specific requirements in the areas of performance and availability, security and compliance, data warehousing, manageability and integration of unstructured data. Oracle Database 11g helps lower the cost of computing, offers higher quality service, has proven benefits of Grid computing, and is easy to manage.
Oracle unites the world's best enterprise applications in an open architecture to provide market-leading applications to support businesses from end-to-end; has the world's best-selling database and unbreakable grid computing infrastructure and the broadest installed base with thousands of satisfied customers while having the strongest strategic road map. Oracle ranks number one for its CRM, supply chain management, and human capital management applications, and deploys around 37,000 customer applications.
Customer service, industry solution and 40+ partners all hot topics at Oracle World
In addition to the launch of Oracle Database 11g, GITEX visitors will also learn more about the latest trends in customer relationship management (CRM) solutions as part of Oracle's acquisition of Siebel, and get a closer look at the Oracle E-Business Suite as well as the most recent enhancements to Oracle's business intelligence and software development solutions. One of the fastest areas of growth for Oracle in the Middle East region is the rising demand for industry-specific solutions, so the company is expecting an increased number of executives from financial services, retail, telecommunications, government, energy and transportation organizations to visit Oracle World in Hall 5 at GITEX.
"One of the fundamental benefits of being the vendor with the largest exhibition space at GITEX 2007 is that Oracle World genuinely has a software solution for every business need, from our technology platform including the new Oracle 11g, to our business applications to reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction, to our industry-specific solutions and expertise. In a fast-paced, competitive marketplace, companies must quickly adapt to changing business needs, and Oracle's Applications Integration Architecture helps them gain greater business agility," added Murugan.
In addition to Oracle's own live technology and business solution demonstration areas, Oracle World will also prominently feature software developed by its partners for specific industry verticals or to address business challenges within the region. More than 40 Oracle partners -- from independent software vendors building bespoke solutions on the Oracle platform to systems integrators with demonstrated knowledge of how to implement the Oracle E-Business Suite - will have dedicated display areas within Oracle World.
One of the most popular attractions at Oracle World 2007 will be up to 90 hours of concurrent seminars tackling a range of business and technology topics. Attendees can learn how to build a service-oriented architecture, or the latest developments in governance and compliance and how to address them through Oracle solutions. Oracle and its partners will host seminars on all five days of GITEX, and according to Murugan, "the seminar content is not only relevant to the Middle East and current business trends, but our customers really appreciate the chance to just sit down for thirty minutes during GITEX and get a quick industry update."
