New online presence at www.lg.com for better branding, more convenience
Dubai, UAE, May 2, 2010 -- LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator, announced today that its global brand website URL (Uniform Resource Locator), www.lge.com, will officially transition to www.lg.com effective immediately. The new URL will contribute to the growing company's brand exposure and digital presence and will make it easier for customers to find the brand online.
"Globally, people don't think of us as LG Electronics, but rather as simply 'LG'," said Mr. Kim Wan Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company. "Finding our brand on the World Wide Web will become substantially easier with this transition."
The consumer electronics and home appliance company secured www.lg.com last year from a third party with the help of LG Holdings. The new URL roll-out was initiated on the 52nd anniversary of LG Electronics' founding and completed in a matter of hours with no interruption or inconvenience to consumers. As always, the LG website will direct visitors to their country's content in the customer's local language.
With over 10 million unique visitors a month, the LG website is often the first stop for many consumers looking for information about the company's products and services. The change enables LG Electronics to be more consistent in how it markets -- and how consumers think of -- the brand and is expected to significantly increase traffic to the company's website immediately.
