JEDDAH: Dar Al-Hekma University organized its annual exhibition for architecture and visual communication students at Tsami Creative Lab under the theme “Metamorphosis”.
The works of senior students, expected to graduate this year, were showcased during the exhibition.
The theme “Metamorphosis” reflected the journey of students from the moment they join the university until their senior year after spending 4-5 years and morphing into accomplished designers with technical and conceptual skills that are highly sought after in the workplace.
This year, the exhibition showcased for the first time 71 works with different themes including 28 graphic designs, 19 motion graphics, and 24 architecture works. It took students around a full academic year to finish these projects and translate them from an idea into a real visual concept.
Commenting on the exhibition, Dr. Suhair Al-Qurashi, President of Dar Al-Hekma University, said the primary objective of the exhibition is to open the doors of labor market to students. Prestigious companies were invited to attend the exhibition and get a closer look at the creative works of students. It is an innovative platform helping students start on the right foot in the labor market and giving them an opportunity to show off their creativity to companies and land lucrative job offers in high-profile companies.
Nada Zaidan, Dean of School of Design and Architecture, Dar Al-Hekma University, said “The Visual Design and Architecture School at Dar Al-Hekma University is one of the departments that continue to attract students. It is run by an elite of faculty members having considerable experience and high qualifications. The curricula were designed based on the highest global standards in order to keep up with the latest developments and prevalent trends in visual design field. This is why our graduated students stand out from others and become pioneers in their own specialization.”
