New Release Offers Greater Performance and Affordability

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

BenQ (pronounced BEN-CUE), the region’s leader in digital lifestyle products, has launched a new digital camera in the Middle East, expanding its versatile range of photographic solutions and capitalizing on high levels of consumer interest in digital cameras in the region.

Digital cameras have emerged as a strong business line for BenQ, with its visual storage division contributing over 20% of the company’s total revenues.

The new camera, DC2300, possesses several key power performance features, including 2.1 mega-pixels of CCD resolution, 3.1 mega-pixels of enhanced resolution and a dual storage mode providing 8MB of internal memory, so that people can store more of their memories on the camera.

“The DC2300 is a welcome addition to our growing portfolio of digital cameras, because we can now offer suitable products to complement the lifestyles of everyone in the Middle East,” said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ Middle East.

“This camera is fun, easy-to-use and offers a lot of competitive features at a very attractive price,” he added.

Digital photography offers a number of lifestyle options not available with traditional photography, and improving technology means these are expanding all the time. The DC2300’s larger memory can digitize up to 126 pictures, while BenQ’s unique HIT technology (Histogram and Image Transformation) creates the clearest possible prints.

A popular feature of the DC2300 is its 1.6- inch LCD screen, which enables users to preview and review the shots they take. Combined with its best-in-class power durability, this LCD can run for 2 hours on only 2 batteries, so users can take pictures or shoot movies without worrying about sudden power shortages.

“We expect sales of this model to exceed those of all our competitors in the region,” said Dung. “BenQ can offer strong and pleasurable products like this because we understand the enjoyment that great technology can bring to people’s lives.”
