Sharjah: Secret mantras to a successful life were uncovered during an interactive and highly engaging session at Azyan Conference and Exhibition, held at Al Jawaher Reception & Convention Centre (JRCC). At the four-day event for beauty, fashion, and wellness, Sara Al Zaidi, an Emirati author and certified life coach, conducted a session titled Find Your Voice of Confidence at Your Workplace, and shared with the visitors five secrets of success, which can be used by any women to lead a fruitful and prosperous life.

  1. Read and enrich: The first suggestion of the session was to make reading a regular habit. During the session, Al Zaidi stated that reading is the key to self-discovery and emphasised that choosing the right books can help one learn from others’ experiences and better understand ourselves in turn.
  2. Keep a personal diary: Al Zaidi advised women to keep a personal diary and write down their daily tasks in order to get the most out of their experience. She said that a daily journal helps one identify personal goals, increases self-awareness and enables them to take the right decisions.

Al Zaidi stressed, “Writing your goals motivates you to achieve them.  They drive us to act in life as if they are already a reality. This is one of most effective ways to be successful and boost one’s self-confidence."

  1. Identify strengths and weaknesses: One of the key tips for women to be able to understand themselves is to identify their strengths and weaknesses, the author unveiled during the session. She pointed out that old and dormant feelings, if not dealt with in the right way, can affect women’s self- confidence and that being in a place which does not nurture your aspirations nor corresponds to your personality can ruin efforts that are being made in the direction of success and excellence.
  2. Nurture passion: Passion is one of the shortest paths to success in professional life, stated Al Zaidi, recommending that women should find ways to nurture passion, which is one of the most important values that stimulate one to achieve their objectives and become successful.

“Passion is a driving force that urges us to achieve our goals and fulfil our ambitions. It encourages us to further our knowledge and refine our perception towards life,” she said.

  1. Ignore negative critiques: One of the most vital secrets to self-improvement, as revealed by the session, is reinforcing positive behaviour and disregarding negative critiques, with the latter being termed as the most dangerous means of self-destruction, the session highlighted. Al Zaidi emphasised upon the importance of enhancing positive behaviour that helps women to shine to glory and impact lives of others, positively.
