SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., (RSA Conference) - Axalto, formerly Schlumberger Smart Cards & Terminals, announced today the availability of high performance USB-ready smart ID cards and USB tokens online. The products, known as Cyberflex Access 32K e-gate, are microprocessor smart cards with 32 Kbytes of EEPROM storage that support both USB and ISO 7816 compatible readers.

Axalto's Web store, scmegastore.com, is the industry's leading smart card Web store and the industry's first online source, started in 1997. The number of orders received via Axalto's Web store has doubled in the last 18 months, attributed to the increased deployment of Axalto smart ID cards. In addition to a full line of smart cards and readers, developers and early adopters of this growing technology can get everything they need to integrate smart cards into their systems, or create new software solutions without a large investment. The Axalto Web store provides a secure, easy to use ordering system and ships within 24 hours to every allowable country in the world. The Web store makes a smart cards "community of expertise" accessible with the integrated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), related user forums and full technical specification information. Additionally Axalto technical support is available online for customers, with most questions answered within 24 hours.

These high capacity smart cards expand possibilities for VARs, VADs, system integrators and in-house developers to implement encrypted access control with passwords, logons, multi-applications and other features. Fully compatible with USB interfaces, e-gate has the advantage that can be used directly on the USB ports using low cost USB connectors. It is available in two forms -- a full size card for use with a USB desktop connector, or a smaller "SIM" size that fits into a small USB token. Cyberflex Access e-gate can also be used with ISO 7816 smart card readers. A Software Development Kit that includes complete documentation about how to integrate Cyberflex Access into IT systems is also available online.

Current clients for Axalto's Cyberflex Access smart cards include Dell Inc; the U.S. Departments of Defense and Interior; and Shell Oil Co. among many others. For more information about Cyberflex Access e-gate visit axalto.com.
