Amman, Jordan 10 June, 2007: Aqaba processing Company (APC), one of Nader Group's joint ventures, has recently attained the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points certificate (HACCP), which made (APC) the first  and currently, the only rice processing company to attain this prestigious certificate in the Kingdom.

"We are very proud to have acquired this worldwide certificate which has given us a competitive edge by asserting us as the first processing company with a (HACCP) certificate in the Kingdom, as well as an international  stamp of recognition on our highest quality processing and packaging of rice. This certification has also reflected positively on the efficiency of our production process by giving us a better understanding of the preventive approaches to food safety," said the Acting General manager of (APC) Rami Ammawi.

HACCP is one of the best systematic preventive approaches to food safety that addresses physical, chemical and biological hazards as a means of prevention rather than merely inspecting the finished product. HACCP is used in the food industry to identify potential food safety hazards, so the key actions known as critical control points (CCP's) can be taken to reduce or eliminate the risk of the hazards being realized. The system is used at all stages of food production and preparation process.

Aqaba Processing Company was acquired by Nader Group in 2003, as a result of a joint venture between SunRice of Australia and Nader Group.   Sunwhite rice is processed in the region at the APC factory using high tech equipment and machinery that is known for it's capability to discharge a bulk grain vessel into its silos that can take up to 50,000 tons of grains and perform further processing for rice such as sort, screen and polish; pack into any bag size between 1kg - 50 kg and load trucks for onward delivery to any area within the region.

Apart from this recent APC certification, Sunwhite Rice has already under its belt numerous awards for quality through various Jordanian consumer and economic development organizations.

It is worth mentioning that Nader Group enjoys a high market share in the import and distribution sector, through its distribution arm, due to its advanced marketing capabilities. Nader Group supplies Jordanian consumers with numerous well recognized international brands through its sophisticated distribution network and the hard work of its professional staff which has grown rapidly through the years to reach over 500 employees. Nader Group also has facilities and storage areas covering 24,000 square meters spread all around the Kingdom.
