DUBAI: – This winter welcomes a game changer, with the introduction of Dubai’s first Andaz branded hotel, Andaz Dubai The Palm. Located in the heart of The Palm Jumeirah, the luxury boutique lifestyle hotel and residences will be rooted in Dubai’s rich culture, whilst reflecting the city’s eclectic style through all elements of design, interaction and experience. Set to open on 1st December 2019, Andaz Dubai The Palm rests on a 300m private beach, within walking distance of the upcoming Nakheel Shopping Mall. Located on the right trunk of the shoreline, the two 15-story towers will house 217 bespoke guest rooms and 116 individually imagined designer residences. Boasting a mix of fresh and contemporary sized spaces and floor to ceiling windows with 360-degree views of Dubai’s ever-evolving skyline, each room promises a unique experience centred around contemporary Arabic arts and crafts.
Paying homage to Dubai’s young and dynamic Emirati design culture, guests can expect local touches throughout – from textiles inspired by Sadu, geometrical embroidery on traditional hand-woven fabrics to beds framed by a canopy of waved wood to create a modern interpretation of a Bedouin tent. Creating a lasting impression, the hotel’s vibrant entrance harnesses the power of the sun to create a visual language of shadows and colour typical to the region. Contemporary art pieces showcasing up and coming local artists’ works will seamlessly blend with the hotel interiors.
Created for the inquisitive-minded traveller, Andaz Dubai The Palm will offer an inspired local experience and stimulate guests’ senses through the city’s rich culture, heritage and attractions. Boasting five distinct dining venues bursting with local flavours, the culinary experiences aim to create a vibrant social scene with a kaleidoscope of international and traditional Middle Eastern influences.
Starting with The Locale; your neighbourhood eatery, the hotel’s central restaurant that brings together culinary stories from around the city and weaves a blanket of flavors that only Dubai has to offer. Drawing from the city’s hidden boltholes – the oldest kebab house to the Jumeirah’s favourite fish shack – expect the ultimate dining experience in a laid back coffee house atmosphere.
The place to find contemporarily crafted Japanese cuisine peppered with an international touch, Hanami is sure to become known for its modern, edgy take on traditional Japanese Izakaya. The place to see and be seen, it’s the perfect spot to share dishes with friends or sip a cocktail while soaking in a cosmopolitan vibe.
The Andaz Lounge provides an ‘anti office’ for guests and residents, with a design that evokes the cosiest of dens with plush seating, large tables and a library of books allowing guests to catch up, swap stories and debate their favourite literary classics.
Everyone will be talking about Knox, an underground urban speakeasy bar appealing to bon vivants and city socialites. Andaz Dubai The Palm’s soon-to-be notorious hot spot will serve up a heady mix of contemporary mixology in a concrete space with vintage rugs, vibrant furniture and a social scene like no other.
Taking an unconventional approach to MICE, Andaz Dubai The Palm is set up to host a variety of events, boasting approximately 590 square metres of functional space consisting of a unique show-kitchen, meeting rooms, living room and a spacious terrace overlooking the beach. Complemented by advanced audio-visual technology, Andaz Salons are versatile spaces, accommodating everything from corporate meetings with a twist to social parties with the city’s elite.
Located on the 14th floor, Ora is a tranquil haven offering boutique relaxation with a carefully crafted menu of facial and body treatments for singles and couples. On the same floor, guests can gather around the captivating adult-only Cabana pool area embellished with vibrant tiles forming a magnificent modern Arabic mosaic. In-keeping with Andaz Dubai The Palm’s distinct and authentic design approach, four palm tree inspired umbrellas designed by local Emirati artist Khalid Shafar proudly flank each corner of the providing much-needed shade and undeniable style. Fitness fanatics can also enjoy the state-of-the-art fitness centre and yoga terrace, catering to all of guests’ wellness needs.
At the Cabana pool terrace, two large woven seating canopies have been built to create intimacy and a focal point to frame an unforgettable view of the Burj Al Arab. Back on ground level, a destination pool and beachfront provides the perfect spot to enjoy Dubai’s endless supply of sunshine.
