RIYADH — The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) issued more than 171,000 administrative decisions during the month of Jumada Al-Akhirah against violators who included both citizens and residents.

The Jawazat clarified that violators were subjected to several penalties for infringing of residency (iqama) system, labor laws, and border security rules.

The penalties varied between jail, financial fines, and deportation from Saudi Arabia.

The Jawazat has called on all citizens and resident individuals or facility owners not to involve in transporting, harboring or employing the violators of labor, residency and border security regulations.

They must not help out violators by offering them shelter, or assist them in finding job opportunities, housing, or transport.

The public should cooperate with the Jawazat and report on any violation of labor, residency, and border security laws, by calling the number 911 in Makkah, Riyadh and Al-Sharqiyah regions and 999 for the rest of Saudi Arabia.
