MANAMA: People who are vaccinated with the Chinese vaccines against Covid-19 can now enter Saudi Arabia, provided they have taken a booster shot approved by the kingdom, it has emerged.
As reflected on the website launched by Saudi Arabia to register those vaccinated to allow them to enter the country, people who have received two doses of Sinopharm and Sinovac, can now enter the kingdom, 14 days after taking a booster dose approved in Saudi, namely Pfizer/BioNTech, Covishield-AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna.
However, the Russian Sputnik V vaccine has not yet been approved.
It has also stipulated that the vaccination certificate be registered 72 hours before travelling.
The website also stipulates the following conditions to enter Saudi Arabia:
1. Obtaining one of the vaccines approved in the kingdom, which are listed in the Vaccine Type field.
2. The vaccination certificates are required to be attested by the official health authorities of the country of arriving passengers (the Health Ministry or an authorised health authority).
3. The period between receiving the last dose (the second dose of a two-dose vaccine or the first dose of a single dose vaccine) and leaving for the kingdom should not be less than 14 days.
4. Bring the original certificate when leaving for the kingdom.
5. Entering the information before departure to the kingdom with a maximum of 72 hours.
6. Acknowledgment of the accuracy of the entered information and the correctness of the information will be verified upon issuance of the boarding pass and at the entry points, and failure to comply with these requirements makes it open to preventing entry to the kingdom and the legal consequences.
7. Download Tawakalna app before arrival and register upon arrival.
Bahrain’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Shaikh Humood bin Abdulla Al Khalifa praised the move.
