AMMAN — The Civil Status and Passport Department (CSPD), in partnership with the Kingdom's embassies and consulates worldwide, in 2020 issued 71,906 passports for Jordanian expatriates electronically, CSPD Director General Fahed Omoush said on Saturday.

In an interview with the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Omoush called on Jordanian expatriates to benefit from the department's e-services in issuing all personal documents, such as passports, family notebooks and birth and death registers.

Muhammad Saqqal, head of the embassies and consulate affairs at the department, said that the COVID-19 pandemic prevented expatriates from returning to the Kingdom, which required CSPD to issue passports electronically through 12 diplomatic missions.
